PRERNA

FATE, not lie in my hands though,
Agonies shall never conquer my woe,
Sympathy which stays my biggest foe,
when Hope shall stand a little low,
what my little lips shall try is an adamant no!

Castigate, you will
for the futile efforts-
that I endlessly put,
but I will stand,
I will live
the life, which i forever dreamed.

I hope not for a hand,
Or a wizard's magic wand,
I hope not for the God's panacea,
But a ray of HOPE,
Or a little bit of PRERNA!

The disability trivia of 'The White House'

the white house
While Indian history has hardly witnessed any physically/mentally disabled persons as the top gun, and hardly any person in India with such challenge aspire to be one, The White house has housed residents with disabilities, which itself is a paradigm of unfathomable success-persons ruled by disabilities have ruled the super nation! As of Indian parliament, there are special reservations for the differently able ones; the number is too big not to be counted on fingers. In case of The White House, 'Disability is triviality'.

F.D.Roosevelt - a name an American can never forget, the man who stood for America during The World War and laid the foundation for the next superpower -  was a patient of poliomyelitis. However, retrospective study favoured diagnosis of Guillain Barre Syndrome - a rare disorder similar to polio, and relates to dysfunction of autonomic nervous system, found in 1-2 cases for ever 100000 people. On his death, the New York Times quoted, "men will thank God on their knees 100 years from now that F.D.Roosevelt was in the white house".

Ronald Reagan, 40th president of the US, developed hearing impairment during his term as the president. In 1983, he decided to go public wearing small audio-amplifying device. This step of his inspired many across US and those who felt embarrassed going public with such an aid had a change of mindset. That year, the sales of hearing aids boosted largely.

The White House has shared a long History with 'dyslexia', found almost in every 1 out of 6 presidents elected.A person suffering from 'dyslexia' often finds difficulty in writing, reading or even performing simple maths calculations, however, often possesses outside the box thinking, vision, oratory skills, or leadership qualities.
Here's a long list of White house presidents who had or was thought to be suffering from dyslexia:

  1. George Washington (1st president)
  2. Thomas Jefferson (3rd president)
  3. Andrew Jackson (7th president)
  4. Woodrow Wilson (28th president)
  5. J.F.Kennedy (35th president)
  6. Lyndon Johnson (36th president)
  7. George Bush Sr. (41st president)
  8. George Bush Jr. (43rd president)
Abraham Lincoln

The most cherished American Prez. Abraham Lincoln, suffered from severe depression almost his entire term in the office. His friends had described him as 'the most depressed person ever seen' in their letters on Abraham Lincoln.
Some of his lines in 'The  Suicides Soliloquy' Shows his state of mind:

Hell! what is hell to one like me
                         who pleasures never knew,
                         by friends consigned to misery,
                         by hope deserted too?

Asylum to snowden - politics played in India

Dear Mr. Kejriwal, if we start supporting traitor’s like Snowden and grant asylum, will there be any difference between us and countries like pakistan, which secretly provided an asylum to Osama Bin Laden?
Arvind Kejriwal
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday condemned the central government for denying asylum to fugitive former CIA agent Edward Snowden who blew the whistle on US data mining.
“The Aam Aadmi Party condemns these cowardly acts of our government and demands that as a country governed by a constitution which protects civil liberties, and committed to protecting whistleblowers, the government must stand up to the US and offer political asylum to Snowden,” the AAP said in a statement.

Stockholm Syndrome-sympathy for captors

Patty Hearst, during the April 1974 Hibernia b...Stockholm syndrome – it is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage develops signs of sympathy for the captor, regardless of the risk in which the hostage has been placed.

Fact : The syndrome was first observed after a bank robbery in Stockholm, Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage in the bank’s vaults from August 23 to August 28 in 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their captors, and even defended them after they were freed from their six-day ordeal, refusing to testify against them. Later, after the gang was arrested and sentenced to jail, one of them married a woman who had been his hostage. The term “Stockholm syndrome” was coined by the criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, using the term in a news broadcast. It was originally defined by psychiatrist Frank Ochberg to aid the management of hostage situations.
A famous example of Stockholm syndrome : story of Patty Hearst, a millionaire’s daughter who was kidnapped in 1974, seemed to develop sympathy with her captors, and later took part in a robbery they were orchestrating.
Many Hollywood and bollywood movies have also been written on the basis of this syndrome. This includes :Stockholm Syndrome, The Chase, Bandits, Kidnap(where the end shows that Sanjay Dutt‘s family understands Imraan khan and his decision of abducting MInisha Lamba). The movie ‘Tathastu’ starring Sanjay Dutt also shows some similar syndrome in the hostages when they know that Sanjay Dutt has abducted them to save his son who requires a heart transplant surgery.
Reason : sometimes hostages empathize with the cause & purpose behind their abduction and captivation and gets moved by their problems. The constant thought to their problems during captivation (during which their mind is in constant stress, anxiety & fear and has nothing to do else) becomes vulnerable to such thoughts and incorporate sympathy for their captors.

twins born in a gap of 11 days!

genealogist was studying a piece of record to find out the lineage of Sir Robert Attenborough – ex-mayor – attherstone town council - Warwickshire county.He was called to search for any information regarding Robert’skinship, lineage and ancestors.
Robert had lost his parents at an early age.Although he was from a family of knights (the family-title ‘Sir’ transfers to next to kin) , he was brought up by a couple from neighbourhood. An year later, when his aunt died, the couple had little knowledge about Robert’s distant relatives. Now in his early sixties, with no descendant ahead, he wants to find his distant relatives to pass on his wealth and family title.
The genealogist’s face showed signs of astonishment at the piece of record he was studying now in the central council library of attenborough.
“twins born in a gap of 15 DAYS.This is ridiculous.A misprint in record and a mishap for me.”
He checked other records for twin brothers: Allan and Joe Attenborough-Robert’s ancestors. The town council’s records showed the same.
Allan : night-2nd september, 1752
Joe : midnight-14th september, 1752
and both were twins.with modern technology, twins come to the world in a difference of a few minutes. In 1750′s,the case might be different but a matter of 11 days can either be a miracle or a simultaneous misprint in records.
                                                                          *
Science behind such  a weird information is the british calender of 1752. September of 1752 had just 19 days.11 days from 2nd september to 13th september were missing. It means that year of 1752 had only 355 days! Allan and Joe came to this world in a difference of few minutes. The record hence showed Allan on 2nd sep. night and when Joe got his birth minutes later, it was midnight (in modern terms-passed 00.00) ie next date-14th september.
                                                                          *
This piece of story is completely fictitious.the reason behind narrating this story is the amazing fact that British calender of 1752 had 355 days contrary to 365 of a non-leap year.
Year 1752 was a Leap year starting on Saturday of the Gregorian calendar, and a leap year starting on wednesday of the 11-day slower Julian calendar. In the British Empire, it was the only year with 355 days, as September 3 through September 13 were skipped.Britain used to follow the old Julian calender until september 1752, when it decided to leap 11 days to change to Gregorian calender.
Fact : In the Roman Julian Calendar, April used to be the first month of the year; but the Gregorian Calendar observed January as the first month. Even after shifting to the Gregorian Calendar, many people refused to give up old traditions and continued celebrating 1st April as the New Year’s Day. When simple orders didn’t work, the King finally issued a royal dictum which stated that those who celebrated 1st April as the new year’s day would be labelled as fools. From then on, 1st April became April Fool’s Day.

Fast and Furious 6

Director : Justin Lin

Producers : Neal Moritz , Vin Diesel, Clayton Townsend

Writer : Chris Morgan

Star Cast :

Review :
A heist at Rio fetched them billions but billions don’t substitute for your adventurous life, especially if your entire life is a journey full of something fast and something furious. They still decide to live their lives away from crimes and a peaceful life of luxuries. But ‘past keeps on chasing you’.One fine morning, Dominic ( ‘Dom’ ) finds Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs(famously known as Rock-Dwayne Johnson),who helped him in Rio, at his doorsteps asking for aid to catch a group of racers who raided and almost destroyed the military convoy in search of parts to create a nightshade device that could control power lines and hence could be devastating, if in wrong hands.Involvement of Letty-Dom’s ex-girlfriend (who was thought to be dead)  was enough to persuade ‘Dom’.The team was back to work.
Dom and his team starts investigation on British Special Forces soldier Owen Shaw and his crew and the action starts. Dom’s team, chasing a pair of cars, had  never imagined them to be so tough, so fast, so furious.Bunch of stunts with pair of cars and Luke Hobbs diving to another car were conventional. However, the use of a pair of cars hammering and destroying cop’s vehicles is more than original and well picturized and perfomed. Reckless driving and evading the cops is the identity of ‘fast & furious series’ and is bound to be in this part too.Hence the stunts performed on vehicles are above par in comparison to bond movies or MI series. But F&F series have set such benchmarks that audience expect more everytime. The movie is upto the expectations.
The storyline is a bit topsy-turvy and timing has never been so perfect to bring them in (especially one which showed someone in the team of Dom’s working for Shaw). The rear part is a cargo plane action sequence, the best action part in  the movie.Never imagined any car hanging on a moving plane about to takeoff. There were three in action.Mia kidnapped, betrayal of the Hobb’s co-officer, Letty’s amnesia bettered the story-line.Fast 5 showed Dwayne-Vin against each other, this one as each others allies. The action sequences of Dom-Luke-Brian O’Conner (Vin Diesel-Dwayne Johnson-Paul Walker) was all that draws the audience.Few lines were catchy too: ‘you will meet Shaw only when he wants you to’ and as Dominic’s crew gather to share a meal, Dominic asks Letty if the gathering feels familiar; she answers no, but that it feels like home.

In a post-credits scene, while Han is being chased in Tokyo, he is hit by an oncoming car; the car explodes, killing Han. The other car’s driver(Jason Statham) walks away from the scene and calls Dominic, leaving him a threatening message: “You don’t know me, but you’re about to…”.the movie ends beautifully giving hint for its sequel.

Perfect action and entertainment package.

Satyagni

‘SATYAGNI is one  idea, one movement, born years ago with the very old belief of “pen is mighter than sword”.Today it has  taken a completely different shape. Satyagni has been my pen name for years and i am looking forward to continue it for the rest of my life….
Gone are the days when people facing atrocities from the dark world(harvey dent) would meet a leader(batman) who would show them the path to freedom and enlighten their lives. The  21st century is populated with maskmen ;two faces of whom requires to be revealed. There’s no spell or a hex provided as in the Harry Potter’s world to unmask the masked magician.what you have is the power of your conscience -the eternal magic within you , that would lead you to a correct judgement. And whats conscience? Its the only weapon of truth one possess to fight the evil.
There are these politicians with full of apathy
There are terrorists with no sympathy
There are cons with ever-ready treacherous smile
there are millions such, and you still have to move miles….
In this fight against the evils , join hands with me and use the weapon of truth to set the evil-world ablaze…
